Single-row tapered roller bearings are the most used in tapered roller bearings. In the front wheel hub of the car, small-size double-row tapered roller bearings are used. Four-row tapered roller bearings are used in heavy machinery such as great cold and hot rolling mills.

Generally, the tapered angle of the outer ring raceway of a single row tapered roller bearing is between 10° and 19°, which can simultaneously bear the combined action of axial load and radial load. The higher the cone angle, the greater the ability to withstand axial loads. Bearings with a large cone angle, the rear code is added with B, and the cone angle is between 25°~29°, which can bear a large axial load. Also, single row tapered roller bearings can adjust the size of the clearance during installation.
The outer ring (or inner ring) of double row tapered roller bearings is a whole. The two inner circles (or outer rings) have small end faces close to each other, and there is a spacer in the middle. The thickness of the spacer adjusts the clearance. The width of the spacer can also be used to improve the pre-interference of double-row tapered roller bearings.
Four-row tapered roller bearings. The performance of this type of bearing is the same as that of double-row tapered roller bearings. Still, it has a higher radial load than double-row tapered roller bearings and slightly lower limit speed. It is mainly used for heavy machinery.
